DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Audemars Piguet & Co, Swiss, ultra-thin dress watch, 41mm, 18K white gold OF original case, silvered dial, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#39886 with matching serial number within case. Comes with a signed Audemars Piguet leather pouch as pictured. Gross weight of assembled watch 21.6 dwt (33.6 g). This example is in need of parts and skilled restoration as balance wheel is incomplete and movement has other evident additional issues as described below, but this is a very attractive ultra-thin piece that will make a worthy project in the right hands.
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, balance wheel is broken with half of its perimeter missing and will need to be replaced, missing balance cock screw and hairspring is not secured to balance cock so when case rear is opened the balance cock and remaining portion of balance wheel will drop out freely, hairspring is visibly out of shape, likely broken mainspring as watch winds endlessly without reaching a stopping point, missing a barrel bridge screw, otherwise excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some toning of plate surfaces which is most notable at perimeter areas; dial with some scattered surface spots, discoloration at perimeter between 7 and 8:30; excellent hands; case shows hardly any wear, some fine scratches and abrasions to rear, no dents or dings, few minuscule nicks to band; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal.
